The supplement is vegetarian friendly with not a lot of carbohydrates. I have yet to try it pre-workout. I can honestly say, after a hard training session, my recovery time and no sore muscles. The supplement is soy free and non-GMO. I was mainly interested in using this supplement for it’s recovery and endurance improving properties.
Proud to be representing and using Activ5 allowing me to exercise anywhere. Along with my cardio, cycling, running and swimming, using the Activ5 makes for quick yet effective workout. I have even showed it to my 10 year-old son, using the Activ5 device. Paired through bluetooth to my smartphone, select a workout ranging from upper body, lower body, toning, yoga and pilates, as well as abs, butt and leg workouts. For busy travelers there are even workouts on the app geared towards using in small spaces such as a car or airplane and finally hotel workouts. All these isometric exercises have easy to follow directions and images, showing a model using the device and where to place it for the exercise. The first time you do a specific exercise you will set your “max power” and the app will then contour the exercise according to that setting.
Before performing any of the exercise you can reset your max power output.
At the end of each exercise is give you a report on how you performed that exercise. Your max power in pounds and how much weight can be compared to that you just lifted. The muscle control you had in a percentage.
The little, very portable, device is powered with one AAA battery.
The device works off of applying pressure, sometimes on both sides of the device, others just pressing down, applying pressure to the one side, depending upon the exercise being performed. During each exercise you apply more pressure making the marker rise on the app, and apply less pressure to make it lower. The only setting adjustment I needed to make to my smartphone was the timeout length. I was running in to my smartphone falling asleep during my workout. I have now taken care of this and the Activ5 device is great.
These isometric exercises contract particular muscles or groups of muscles. The muscle doesn't noticeably change length and the affected joint doesn't move.
Besides the Activ5 app, there are other apps (games) out in the iTunes or Google Play stores. Involve the kids in these exercises paired with the games and they will have no idea they are helping tone their muscles.
With an older drone I am using in my professional field, a photographer and videographer, the control of the camera is crucial for achieving the right shot. Sure, some the exposure control can be done in post production, but the main goal is to achieve it in the camera. Using neutral density filters and other filters in front of the lens help achieve that. I picked up a set of four filters, an ND 4, ND 8 and circular polarizer and lastly a UV filter to attach to my drones camera. The set comes with an adapter to screw them into then slide over the front of the camera. They are 37mm filters. They can be stacked, screwing them into each other with the threads they have on both sides of the filter, however this will cause vignetting, or the outside of the frame will be darkened. I am still testing these out and will let you know what I find out, love and if I would recommend them. The set comes with a wallet to store them in as well as a lens cleaner/pen with brush.
I was not paid for this post, as well as I purchased the filters at full price.
IT WORKS! I set out to test and see if the Arctic Cool’s Hydrofreeze X Technology would work as an undershirt of my cycling jersey. It does. Of course, it is because of the air flow while on the bike provides. I use the Spruzza Mist, cycling unit misting system, to keep it damp.
The shirt works great for running and while sweating in the heat during outdoor gym workouts.
Summer is on its way and staying cool during workouts is a must. In the gym or outdoor training sessions can be aided with the help of wearing Arctic Cool gear. Activated by sweat or adding a spray of water starts the process. The fabric is moisture wicking. Arctic Cool’s fabric with Hydrofreeze X Technology wicks the moisture away from your body and in turn uses it to activate the fabrics cooling properties. The fabric material is made of 94 percent polyester and six percent spandex while treated to be anti-microbial. Wash and care of the fabric can be washed in the machine with cold water and like colors. They say it can be put in the dryer but with all my technical clothing I prefer to just hang and let air dry.
Before heading out on a hot evening running, a simple soaking of the shirt in water and ringing out, the cooling effect of the shirt kicks in also. Humidity and sweat rate, the length of how long the shirt stays wet, or damp, all play a part in how long the cooling lasts. The wicking of sweat, will keep the shirt activated.
With summer heat, Arctic Cool gear is a must have to stay cool.
After a hot mountain bike ride last Saturday, temperatures hit the low 90’s.I stopped by my vehicle and grabbed the Arctic Cool, Instant Cooling Towel, which measures 27 inches by 15 inches.I soaked the towel with water, rung it out and tucked in around my neck with some of it going down in my jersey. The cooling effect kicked in and felt great.A nice wind, of moving on the bike, as well as the wind blowing already helped the cooling effect of the towel really work.
Its primary use is for carrying pets around, but this cargo liner is perfect for keeping the interior of your SUV clean. It’s big and quality made. It is 106 inches long by 55 inches wide. To fit into my Tahoe, I would need 77 inches from the back of the front seat to the tailgate. There is more than enough length to protect the inside of the vehicle, adding the bumper flap also.
The cargo cover is thick. There are a few cutouts along the side helping it conform to the sides of the vehicle. There are also a few velcro strips on the underside helping keep the cover in place and not slide around.
I start off by attaching it to the front seat headrests and roll it towards the back of the vehicle. It could even be attached to the back seat headrests, if you only wanted to cover the back cargo space, this all depends on the vehicle you are using it in. The cargo cover is thick. There are a few cutouts along the side helping it conform to the sides of the vehicle. There are also a few velcro strips on the underside helping keep the cover in place and not slide around.
What does it weigh? It weighs a little over 6 and a half pounds. It can be folded and stored when not in use. If it gets dirty it can be machine washed or just hosed down and let to air dry.
Note : I was given a discount in return for my review
In celebration of National Foam Rolling Day, I wanted to share this with everyone. The best way to relax and recover is with a foam roller. The Rumble Roller line of myofascial release products is the answer. Recently Rumble Roller released their GATOR. Its small “teeth” grip the skin for a very soothing cross-friction massage. The Rumble Roller Gator is a heavy duty deep tissue roller unlike your typical foam roller.I use it to help in recovery after training or racing. It’s versatile in the areas of the body. I tend to use it mainly on my lower body targeting my hamstrings, quadriceps, calves and glutes. After riding my glutes tend to tighten up and using the roller to help those muscles recover. After a long run and on recovery days, rolling my calves.Adding a little more pressure at times, I cross legs, at the calf, with only one of them on the roller to treat tight muscles. There is a difference in the regular Rumble Roller and the GATOR and swap them from time to time.A great way to release tight back and shoulders, I slowly and deliberately lay down on the roller, rolling on it from my neck down to my mid back. Then switch up things and roll is still on my back, going sideways, from my left shoulder blade to my right shoulder blade. If gravity or too much pressure is being applied, you can always roll it up way, like a cat on a post.
On the brightest setting the light will produce 550 Lumens running about three hours. Of course with any battery operated device, the lower the brightness the longer the life of the charge of the battery. The three setting of this light consist of 550 Lumens, mid at 250 Lumens and the lowest setting shines the light at 50 Lumens. At the lowest setting the light will last about ten hours before having to be recharged. There is also a strobe mode, which flashes at the brightness of 250 Lumens. You can simply and easily check the battery power by holding the button down for three seconds after the light has been turned off. The light will then flash from one to ten times, with ten times meaning the battery is fully charged. I have used the light for commuting and it is plenty bright on street light lit roads. The light is only able to be attached on your handlebars and can’t attach to a helmet. The mount it comes with can stay on the bike and the light can simply slide out. The light is very secure and stable in the handlebar mount. The mount ratchets to tighten when putting on the handlebar. The light comes with the necessary USB charging cable. This is a great light for any cyclist or mountain bike rider. Keep in mind this light is only able to be attached to handlebars and not the option of both handlebars or helmet. The ease of being able to charge it in a computer or wall USB charger is perfect for commuters who may need to charge it while at work.
The lights battery can be checked by holding the button in for three seconds. The light will then blink anywhere from one to ten times. Each blink is ten percent of a charge. So if the light blinks six times, you have a battery that is at 60 percent.
I am a fan of using any light on the strobe mode, like this one that on that mode shines at 250 Lumens, during the day when commuting and riding with traffic.
Note: I was offered the light at at discount for supplying a review.
