Personal Trainer Food, Low Carb Meal Delivery Program

Personal Trainer Food

Low Carb Meal Delivery Service

This can be done anytime of the year, or join and have food delivered to you every two weeks from Personal Trainer Food.

To start off, placing the order on their website, picking out the foods and meals you like is very simple. They have a lot to choose from. Pick and choose your protein and vegetables. When checking out on the website, choose a delivery date that will fit for you. A heads up, when I placed my order and when I wanted it delivered, it came a day earlier, which was great. Like they mention on their site, have room in your freezer. I ordered for the 14 days of meals, 14 breakfasts, 28 vegetables and 28 meats. Their website keeps track of what you choose calculating as you go, how many you have chosen or still need to choose.  The website when ordering is very good.

The food arrived in a box insulated with styrofoam and included dry ice to keep the food super cold. Inside the box were the instructions, a plan on successfully using the plan, and the individual packets. Even the small packets of food, do take up some room in the box and in your freezer when you transfer them from the box.  I am thankful with some of the protein selection I received they can be stored in the refrigerator. I had a 14 day shipment sent.  The vegetables went in the freezer, like they recommend, with a few of the proteins/meats being able to be kept in the refrigerator section.

I order and had the food delivered a few days before beginning the program. Fasting on the Sunday before beginning it on a Monday.  I know it’s important to stay hydrated and during the process I will.  I really only drink water or carbonated water and one huge cup of coffee to start the day.  Swapping to a sugar free creamer in the coffee will be the hardest part I have to say, but that remains to be seen.

I chose a selection of breakfasts, vegetables and meats.  For the majority of the breakfasts, I chose an omelet, either with bacon or sausage.  Lunches and dinners will consist of some type of chicken or beef along with a vegetable.  The program I am on will be for 14 days.

The plan is mainly to get away from sugar and starches.

The Personal Trainer Food program requires that you walk at least 20 minutes a day, or 2,000 steps. That will not be a problem for my as there will be an exercise workout I am already doing incorporated during this time.  Like they say in their brochure 90 percent of weight loss is eating the right foods with 10 percent of it being exercise.

When it comes to eating the right food, having the programs food already prepped and portioned will be a big help.  Just to grab the packets of food out of the freezer and go.  Either preparing the food at home in the microwave or bringing to work and using the microwave there.

Breakfast and lunch I packed in my lunch box. Quick and easy.

(I had the cheddar omelet with bacon for breakfast and I have to say the quality and taste were really good.)

So why am I doing this?  I am wanting to try and get away from the carbohydrates that I find so many of my daily meals are incorporating in them.  I know athletic-wise, dropping some weight will make me faster on my bike, etc. and the list could go on forever.

I am using this a a jump start to see how my body can and will change over the next two weeks on this program.

A recovery breakfast after a hard ride

The last few weeks I have put in 50 miler on the road bike. On average I use about 1,000 an hour. Of course I consume some gels and an energy bar to start the ride. I also drink plenty of water to keep hydrated.
I put together a quick and easy breakfast when I got home.
Three scrambled eggs, four slices of bacon and an avocado to top it off. Put a little Sriracha sauce on top and I was on my way to recovery.

What are your go-to meals, food after a good workout? I would be interested in knowing and trying out.

NutraEdge Shaker Bottle with Blender Ball

Mixing up a protein powder or sports drink mix is pretty easy with the NutraEdge Shaker Bottle with Blender Ball.  The latest bottle I bought, is the NutraEdge Shaker Bottle with Blender Ball that holds 20.5 ounces of liquid.  It seals perfectly and even has a measuring guide on the outside with a readout in ML and ounces.  The “see through” window makes it nice to see how much liquid is inside. The metal blending ball does its job well.  The bottom of the bottle is squared off, so some drink mix or protein powder might get stuck.  It is nice that it is dishwasher safe, so after use, just drop in the dishwasher to be cleaned.  The bottle is made of Polypropylene carbonate (PPC) material.

Blender Bottle

When mixing up a protein powder the use of a Blender Bottle makes the process pretty easy.  The latest bottle I bought, is the Blender Bottle but with a few cool, sweet options. The bottle has a screw on addition to the bottom that a powered mix can be stored inside. It's crazy but numerous additional containers can be screwed on to the bottom also. Also in inside the addition to the powered mix storage, there is a pill/tablet storage compartment inside I store supplements inside.

I love the "all in one" unit. What still puzzles me about the Blender Bottle is the squared off bottom of the inside. I would think they would design it with a more rounded bottom so the blender ball could reach the whole area down there.  I also like that the whole unit is dishwasher safe.

Three new Amrita Protein bar flavors hitting the market

Along with one of my all time favorites Amrita’s Chocolate Maca 15 grams of protein and 6 grams of fiber, they followed it up by introducing three other great flavor combination bars that also have the same amount of protein and fiber, as well as all being gluten free, soy free, dairy free and Kosher.  Dark Chocolate Quinoa, Chocolate Chip Coconut and finally Sunbutter with Jelly.  I have had the honor to not only taste test these flavor combinations, but have used them in training.  First off, nothing was wrong with the Chocolate Maca bar. I still love and use it as my main after ride recovery bar. The new flavors are something now to mix it up with.  Very good combinations of flavors. Honestly who couldn't turn down the sunbutter and jelly combination. Sunbutter is like peanut butter however made with sunflower seeds. For those with allergies to peanuts, you may ask your doctor if sunbutter could be for you.  If you can't find these flavors or bars in a store near you, you can always order them online.

Pure Whey Protein Isolate

I was sent to try and review Pure Whey Protein Isolate Dutch Chocolate flavor from Summit Nutritions. I typically use a whey to help recover after a hard workout. The dietary supplement was easy to mix in an 8 oz of my favorite drink.  I chose skim milk.  The directions say to shake in a shaker but I placed it all in a blender to speed up the mixing. The supplement contained NO whey concentrate, dextrose, maltodextrin or acid treated whey.  The gluten / soy free was also lactose free, until I added it to the skim milk.  The pure whey is a great way to build or repair muscles.
