Following up after using the Personal Trainer Food 14 day program.
It is very forward and easy to follow program.
Using the program I found out a lot about myself, more than just the food I was eating or not eating.
Feeling strong and fit.
It was nice to have the meals portioned out.I would just grab them out of the freezer and put them in my lunch box to bring to work. They were easy to heat up in the microwave and ready to eat.The evening meal, I just did the same thing. When I got home and the rest of my family was sitting down to dinner, I easily popped my two pouches, one a meat and the other a vegetable in the microwave.
A few things I thought I would be struggling more with. Needing sugar and carbohydrates to keep me going. No, that there hasn’t been that temptation to eat them, or turning them down when they had been offered to me. There was and I was able to get by and remain on track of this program.
On the program, I drank clear liquids, water, tea and coffee. The coffee is the one thing that right in the morning starts me off, walking out of the house. Not having that sugary creamer to make the taste better was hard, but it been doable.Looking back on it, I guess the sugary creamer I would add would be a quick energy started, but did not help with the weight loss and the sugar would burn off quickly.
Did I feel hungry throughout the day? A little, but I am able to supplement with other foods/snacks like a cheese stick or a handful of almonds. A big plus was also staying well hydrated. I try and hit my target of half my body weight in ounces of water, and come close to that.
The walking 20 minutes a day was relaxing. I can say that besides the step counter on my watch, I was getting well over the 2000 steps.I went out a few times on my regular mountain bike training rides. Averaging about 10 miles with them. This is not part of the program but my weekly habits of just working out. I took the rides easy and not pushing myself, knowing the calorie count I was consuming. Typically to start off a workout and not have any type of carbohydrate type of fuel was weird. It was doable. I had water with me and was happy just consuming that.
It had me thinking a lot during the last week, just how much I was or thought I was dependent upon sugar and carbohydrates.
The individual packages containing the food are labeled to show what’s inside and how long to cook it for. If you want to find out the nutrition value of the items or the meals, their website under “Nutrition” is where you will find it.It looked to be the program based off a 2000 calories a day diet. They are high protein and fats, with little to no sugar, making it a Keto meal plan.
As you can see from the screen shots from their website, they list the nutritional value of all their packages foods.
Everything that I ordered was flavorful and delicious. I really liked the Nashville Hot Chicken Sticks. They have a chili icon, listed next to this items photo on the website denoting it is spicy, hot.It is true, and that’s what I was hoping for and expected.Nothing is worse than food without good spice and flavor.
Dill Chicken Bites with Normandy Vegetables, one of my favorites.
Meals before going in my insulated lunch box.
Easy to read instructions on the microwavable bags.
Nashville Hot Chicken sticks with vegetables.
For anyone out there wanting to just try it, the Personal Trainer Food structured food program.
I liked the program and would highly recommend. For me, it set me straight on knowing a correct portion size to eat.
After completing the 14 days I am excited to say I was able to drop 14 pounds in weight. That’s a pound a day.Of course my results are going to be different that anyone else, but I am happy and can feel my clothes fit a little better.
This can be done anytime of the year, or join and have food delivered to you every two weeks from Personal Trainer Food.
To start off, placing the order on their website, picking out the foods and meals you like is very simple. They have a lot to choose from. Pick and choose your protein and vegetables. When checking out on the website, choose a delivery date that will fit for you. A heads up, when I placed my order and when I wanted it delivered, it came a day earlier, which was great. Like they mention on their site, have room in your freezer. I ordered for the 14 days of meals, 14 breakfasts, 28 vegetables and 28 meats. Their website keeps track of what you choose calculating as you go, how many you have chosen or still need to choose. The website when ordering is very good.
The food arrived in a box insulated with styrofoam and included dry ice to keep the food super cold. Inside the box were the instructions, a plan on successfully using the plan, and the individual packets. Even the small packets of food, do take up some room in the box and in your freezer when you transfer them from the box.I am thankful with some of the protein selection I received they can be stored in the refrigerator. I had a 14 day shipment sent. The vegetables went in the freezer, like they recommend, with a few of the proteins/meats being able to be kept in the refrigerator section.
I order and had the food delivered a few days before beginning the program. Fasting on the Sunday before beginning it on a Monday.I know it’s important to stay hydrated and during the process I will.I really only drink water or carbonated water and one huge cup of coffee to start the day.Swapping to a sugar free creamer in the coffee will be the hardest part I have to say, but that remains to be seen.
I chose a selection of breakfasts, vegetables and meats. For the majority of the breakfasts, I chose an omelet, either with bacon or sausage.Lunches and dinners will consist of some type of chicken or beef along with a vegetable. The program I am on will be for 14 days.
The plan is mainly to get away from sugar and starches.
The Personal Trainer Food program requires that you walk at least 20 minutes a day, or 2,000 steps. That will not be a problem for my as there will be an exercise workout I am already doing incorporated during this time.Like they say in their brochure 90 percent of weight loss is eating the right foods with 10 percent of it being exercise.
When it comes to eating the right food, having the programs food already prepped and portioned will be a big help.Just to grab the packets of food out of the freezer and go.Either preparing the food at home in the microwave or bringing to work and using the microwave there.
Breakfast and lunch I packed in my lunch box. Quick and easy.
(I had the cheddar omelet with bacon for breakfast and I have to say the quality and taste were really good.)
So why am I doing this?I am wanting to try and get away from the carbohydrates that I find so many of my daily meals are incorporating in them.I know athletic-wise, dropping some weight will make me faster on my bike, etc. and the list could go on forever.
I am using this a a jump start to see how my body can and will change over the next two weeks on this program.
